| "Trees At Depoe Bay"
"Wind and salt air have taken their toll on the 'trees at Depoe Bay', Oregon. Twisted and sparsely endowed with foliage, they are stalwart and enduring; a symbol of survival at the edge of the sea."
ARTIST COMMENT Anyone driving the Oregon coast, has passed through Depoe Bay. At the center of town, there is a wayside and visitor's center. These diminutive trees are visible from the street, or the center. One of a series of pastel paintings on high quality Canson Mi-Teintes paper. I like the high vantage point perspective that shows the deep blue expanse of water as a counterpoint to the fresh green of the trees, and the warm brown and gold of the rocks.
