"A lone tree clings to the edge of an offshore rock, a 'sunset survivor' that is a testiment to nature's tenacity."
Artist comment: "Sometimes little surprises may be found in extraordinary circumstances. Here in this oil painting on canvas, I painted a scene I recall seeing somewhere on the Northern coast of Washington or Oregon. The small tree clings tenaciously to the leeward side of a stack rock. I placed the setting sun just behind the tree for a dramatic focal point. Starting at the top, I painted the sky all the blues. Next the orange accents, the white splashes and blue foam and roller. The last touch was the shiny duet , sand and the runoff on the monolith."
