"There is a phenomenon at the edge of the sea when every seventh wave is bigger and stronger than the previous six waves. This is known as a 'sneaker' wave."

 
Artist comment:  "A 'sneaker wave' can occur without warning. It can be very dangerous and can sweep you quite against your will, either off your feet or even out into deeper, more dangerous ocean currents. In this oil painting, I tried to depict the drama and strength of one such wave as it rises before any unsuspecting beach-goer. It is absolutely beautiful to see and absolutely treacherous to be caught up in."

"Sneaker Wave" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is July 2009.  Image size and substrates vary.  All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.

"Sneaker Wave ACEO Triptych"

"Sneaker Wave" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” triptych giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.   Image sizes are 2 1/2” X 3 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO).   Release date is July 2009. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks.  The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints.  This ACEO triptych is signed by the artist, includes signed certificates of authenticity, and are packaged in plastic sleeves for protection.
