| "Pacific Rocks"
"A storm is building far out to sea.
Seagulls whirl and the sky darkens as wind driven waves crash relentlessly
against unyielding solid 'Pacific Rocks'."
ARTIST COMMENT In the "Biographical" section on my website, I describe in great detail my fondness for foggy days on the Pacific Coast. This painting in oil on stretched canvas portrays that feeling. The sky is heavy laden and even the rocks seem to be saturated with the dampness. Yet, there is a hint of clearing as the sun lifts higher toward the zenith. The setting is a composite of the places I have seen along the mid-Oregon coast, particularly near "Humbug" Mountain south of Port Orford, Oregon.
