"There are many wonderful grey-green days on the northwest coast of the Pacific. The sky is lightly overcast and the ocean waves gleam like stained glass under the diffused light that lifts your spirits as you walk the beach 'on the coast' of the sea."
ARTIST COMMENT
This small oil on stretched canvas is of the Washington coast near Neah Bay. The rocks here are warmly brown and well worn from the continued assault by the crashing waves. The water seems to be warm, as evidenced by the lime-green translucency typical of bright summer days. I painted the sky in soft pink and blue to give credence to the soft afternoon feeling of a lazy, quiet stroll along the shore, when the tide has turned and the waves seem to calm down for a brief respite from its constant surge upon the beach.
