| "Last Splash"
"The sun is quickly dropping behind the horizon, casting long shadows and lighting up the world with a rosy glow. Waves roll in against dark rocks and cause one 'Last Splash' before the light fades."
ARTIST COMMENT Many beautiful ocean sunsets have been captured by artists and photographers. In this oil on stretched canvas, the volcanic tumble of rocks was the perfect foil for a splashing wave that captures the color, movement and light of the sea at sunset. On the Pacific coast of Oregon, there are numerous locations where this kind of scene repeats itself to the delight of travelers who pause at sundown. It may be a wayside with clean, well kept facilities, or as simple as a strip of pavement curving off the highway, yet the vistas delight and refresh you. One of those moments is the reason for this painting. To learn more about the artist "painting the sea", please click here.
