ARTIST COMMENT Some years ago, I did a series of five oil paintings that were interchangeable with each other, as the horizons and wave patterns met at each edge of the canvases. Since the technique was so much fun and so successful, I was eager to do it again. Here in this and the companion piece, Edge Of The Sea #2, I painted both stretched canvases at the same time, working from one to the other, keeping the colors and moods identical. When placed side by side (at either end) the two paintings make a cohesive scene of the waves on the ocean. To learn more about the artist "painting the sea", please click here.
