"At the 'day's end', the ocean becomes lit
with the glow of the sun. Warm colors illuminate rocks, clouds and
water as the beauty beckons you to linger."
Artist comment: "This is one of my favorite paintings. The colors are soft and
warm; a reminder of a summer sunset on the beach. The Oregon
coast has numerous stack rocks offshore. This scene, an oil painting
on stretched canvas, is typical of the headlands, rocks, and wave action
of the shorelines there. In this instance, the dark rock looms large
against the colorful sky. The shadows as well as the reflections
make an interesting pattern on the wet beach. I like the interplay
of salmon and gold with the blues and purples in the sea and sky.
The painting is quite large to fully express the magnificence of the coastline,
and the limitless expanse of the ocean."
