| "Haystack Rock At Sunset"
"The day on the Oregon Coast at Cannon Beach has been a delight. Now, the moment you have waited and hoped for is here. The sun radiates glorious colors that reflect off the quiet sea, silhouetting Haystack Rock and the needles, in a never-to-be-forgotten scene at sunset."
ARTIST COMMENT This small oil on stretced canvas, is another in a series of Cannon Beach paintings. My family and I spent a great deal of time at this lovely spot, when the boys were young. We saw rainy days. We saw foggy days. We saw days of warm, wonderful sunshine. And we saw sunsets. Some were brilliant red that glowed even after the sun had sunk below the horizon. Some were just amazing golden yellow, like molten gold. Others were with clear blue sky that faded away into darkness. Then there was this one! I remember so clearly the angle of the deep purple clouds as they stretced away to the zenith. I have painted from my memory one of the best ever sunsets of my life.
