"The large Russian grey sunflowers are easy to grow and a fabulous showpiece in the garden. This grouping was painted with watercolor on 140# hot-pressed paper, in a semi-impressionist manner. The composition is a major triangle, with the secondary balance of the top three flowers lined up to add a swing across the upper quadrant of the piece. I really enjoy the bright sunflowers in my garden".

Carol Thompson's personal garden is the subject of this series of watercolor paintings entitled "Carol's Garden". These florals are inspired by the many hours of pleasure received from working the rich soil, nurturing the seedlings, and admiring the fragrant blossoms. Her garden is her getaway, a place to clear her mind; to daydream, a place to get in touch with nature, and a place to think, plan, and just relax.
