| "It may be too late, but this boat seems to cry out, 'Rescue me!'. It has long been setting at the edge of the river, gathering moss on its deck, and rust on its metal structures. Still its former grandeur shows through." |

"I am intrigued by the lines of a boat. Any boat. As this craft rides the current of the river, its overall appearance struck me as an example of creativity and fine workmanship from another time, another era. Besides that, the colors fascinated my artist's soul, and I knew it should be painted. This subject was a good candidate for gouache." |
